Day Five -Â
Reflection
Hello and welcome to Day Five of your Thrive in 2025 Adventure!Â
This is the bookend to intention (that sandwiches check-ins, gratitude and awareness in your day.)
Â
Below is a short video to say hello and explain why today's theme of an attitude of gratitude is so important. Â
Â
“Without reflection, we go blindly on our way, creating more unintended consequences, and failing to achieve anything useful."
Margaret J. Wheatley, author and teacher.
Day 5 - Reflection Â
This is where you make sense of your day:
🌟 understand what happens when you check in with your mood at the beginning of the day and plan accordingly, being intentional about the glimmers in your life;
🌟 You start to see the impact of cultivating an attitude of gratitude;
🌟 when you increase your awareness about what is working and how to improve things that aren't;
🌟 start to understand the power of the active choices you’ve been making in response not reaction to your day;
🌟 when you act and think with intention and end up running your day not being run down by it.
It’s a chance to reflect on what’s working and what’s not, to keep your level of awareness up and to be far more intentional about your GPS so you know when and how to course correct if needs be.
Going back to our pilot analogy from the other day… apparently a pilot who is flying from A to B, isn’t following the direct path the majority of the flight. Influenced by various things like weather and air traffic they are constantly course correcting. They adapt and adjust to all the variables but end up where they intend. That’s what reflection enables you to do.  You’ve set the course (intention) and can adapt and adjust accordingly, because you know, life is not always in our control and we have no control over what other people think or do (despite being their parents or partners!).
You can do this in minutes or take your time… some nights it takes me two minutes and other times I let it all pour out. You are just taking a beat to look back on your day, check in again and remind yourself of the moments that mattered, and think about how it impacted you and where you might have made a different choice. It’s not about reporting the drama of the day or a review of everything that happened, but a reflection on how you are, a chance to process moments and experiences, and build a strong connection to yourself.
Thought for the day: Be here while you’re here. Go back over your day...What went well? What do you want more of?  What made you feel alive? What would you do differently?
Task:Â
* Continue with growing your glimmer list and then being intentional about having more of them.Â
 Continue with the gratitude practise and list 3 things you are grateful for today / in general / about yourself.
* Keep monitoring the ick you want to become more slick.
* Set your intention for today.Â
* Do a Reflection at the end of the day… what is making sense? What ignites you? What was hard? (Without judgement) what would you do differently with hindsight?
