Getting your Sh*t Together

Feeling overwhelmed or stuck?

Spoiler alert: It’s not just your to-do list.

It's not that you aren’t coping, or haven’t got the latest time management tool, or established the right “self-care journey” with wafting scented candles.

It’s not because you’re failing.

It’s because you’ve been trained to believe you "should" always do it all perfectly, keep everyone happy, put everyone first and generally be The Good Girl you were told to be. (Good at being busy, good at being responsible for everything, good at saying yes, regardless of how you actually feel).

These “should-shackles” are the old rules you absorbed growing up.

Here’s the good news.

You can shake off the shackles, unlearn the out-of-date rules (that never served you anyway) and relearn how to develop self-support shoulders to have your own back.

Just what I need!
Alana Kirk, Author of Midlife Redefined

Hi, I’m Alana Kirk— midlifer, brain untangler, and bullshit-cutter-through-er.

As a coach, author and speaker, I’ve helped hundreds of women hit pause on their chaos, figure out what they really want, and go after it with calm, clarity, and courage.

I get the overwhelm, the over-responsibility, and the pressure to keep it all together.  I’ve singled parented, double-jobbed and triple buggied. I’ve been caught in the sandwich years of caring for parents and young children.  I’ve festered in resentment and flourished in my ambitions.

Because women today lead multi-layered, multi-pressured, multi-roled lives…. And the only way to thrive is to clear away the external noise and figure out your internal voice and choices amid the mayhem.

My work as a coach is specifically done through the lens of the context of women's lives today with all its possibilities and all its pressures.  I write self-support books for women because when you thrive, everyone in your life does better.

My coaching and writing stems from what I wish someone had offered me when I hit my own wall and crossroads.

I'd love to help you fight for you amid the mayhem.

A Free Mini Midlife Guide to

Getting Your Sh*t Together

(no time management tools or bubble baths required).

In this free mini guide, I'll share three podcast interviews I did on Sile Seoige’s Ready to be Real podcast, where I:

  • bust some midlife myths,
  • create some purpose-living pathways,
  • show you how to manage the mayhem

I'll also include a magical little midlife exercise to start flexing those should-shackles-shifting muscles.

Why?

Women have been taught to believe if we just keep going, if we just show up for everyone, if we do, do do, if we smile sweetly and push on politely, we'll be rewarded with recogntion, rest and if we're lucky, a welcome cocktail.

I think you already know, you were sold a lie. "Having it all" just feels a lot like "doing it all" and you've had enough.

Unlearning the old conditioning is the only way women can ditch the “should” shackles holding them back, to find the “self-support” shoulders to have their own back.

Over the course of three interviews, Sile and I talk about the powerful potential women today have, which is so much more than the generations before us. But that comes with a price. We also have unprecedented pressures.

Ever wonder why it feels so hard?

In these three interviews  I explain why, and what to do about it.

In the first, we discuss many of the midlife experiences that can affect us - from divorce to dating again to keeping marriages alive; parent care, parenting and empowering those who depend on us; and loss, grief and the beautiful power of becoming.

In the second, we focus specifically on overwhelm and how to come out from under it.

And in the third we chat about friendships, fun and putting the "life" back in your midlife.

Here's some of the feedback we got from the episodes:

"I have just finished listening to this podcast and I feel heard! Thank you for being the voice for so many women. A very powerful listen"

"This was a phenomenal conversation - have shared it widely! Thank you for your wisdom, humour, honesty and unwavering push towards honouring ourselves.”

"Just finished listening to this..... absolutely amazing. What an incredible mother and person you are. Loved listening to you and your message hit home big time! ❤️

""Loved your podcast - just listened this morning. I'm about to turn 40 with 3 kids and feel I've so much to consider for all of us. x"

"Brilliant episode. Shared with all my friends x"

""Grab life by the love handles!" Love it ❤️

"So many takeaways! Thank you."
